Search engine optimization (SEO) is a range of activities to improve ranking on key queries in search engines (like Yandex, Google, Rambler, Aport, etc.). Usually, the higher ranking of the website is the more visitors follow the links from search engines to it. When we analyze the efficiency rate of SEO we usually estimate the cost of a target visitor. And we take into account the time the owners of the website spent to get the ranks and to make conversion.
Statistically, about 40 per cent of all Russian net surfers search in the Web for the information they need (incl. goods and services to buy it then), and the further the more surfers do it.
Usually, they search on key queries, typical for various industries. For example, “Yekaterinburg veterinary clinic”, “order cargo delivery”, “baby-goods store in Moscow”, “buy blender in Internet shop in Chelyabinsk”.
After you enter a query a search engine shows a big list of webpages. But statistically the majority of surfers look through just the first dozen of links met the query. More rarely they look through the next dozen of links, only if they didn’t find the information they need. After that they enter a new key query. So, if your website goes up in the list and takes the first dozen, it has a guaranteed constant flow of potential clients ready to buy.
The website should be optimized for its promotion. As a rule, search engine optimization of the website is a range of activities you need to improve relations between the website and search engines.
